The Laid Scrim construction is a cost-effective reinforcement fabric made from continuous yarns in an open-mesh construction. Our manufacturing process chemically bonds yarns together providing the Laid Scrim with unique characteristics.

Reinforcement Scrim Processes
James Dewhurst have a broad range of capability in laid scrims allowing production of widths from 100mm to 5m. The laid scrim process is in-house technology, developed in Altham, to give a high-speed, high volume process.

Scrims can be produced with a square shape pattern (orthogonal) or diamond shape pattern (triaxial). The construction can be varied from 0.4 ends per cm to 4 ends per cm. The volume and width of products available from the laid scrim process gives a security of supply with a short lead time to satisfy the most demanding customers requirements.
With experience of polyester, nylon and glass yarns from 76dTex to 12,000dTex in laid scrim manufacture in fabric densities from 0.4 to 4 ends per centimetre, James Dewhurst have the scrim processes to solve your reinforcement problem.
