Can you use a bottle sterilizer for glass bottles?

FTM here and just wondering what has worked best for everyone.

Is a sterilizer needed/must for bottles, pacifiers, teethers etc?

And do plastic bottles smell bad after a while vs. glass bottles? I had someone tell me their plastic bottles smelled so bad after a while. I figured if we&#;re washing properly and sterilizing, plastic bottles would be fine.

when I first opened new bottles from the package, I boiled them on the stove just to kill anything they might have been in contact with during the manufacturing process. But there is no reason to sterilize after that.
